How request detail and browser data are handled, and the arrangement disclosed behind them.
Scope
Information reaches cmmcalibrationdetroit.com in two ways: from the requests submitted through it, and from the ordinary technical record a browser leaves behind. This policy covers both, states what each is used for, and sets out the commercial arrangement that sits behind a request. It applies to this website and to every request sent from it.

The Arrangement Behind This Site
Two facts belong at the top of this section. cmmcalibrationdetroit.com is a marketing and referral website operated by Detroit CMM Calibration and Repair, and it is not a calibration laboratory: no CMM Calibration work is carried out by the operator of this site.
What happens instead is that requests are passed to external laboratories. Each of those laboratories holds its own accreditation, operates its own quality management system, and issues its own certificates and reports in its own name. They are chosen against evidence — current accreditation and the scope of it, capability demonstrated for the measurement being requested, and a record of delivery.
For that introduction the operator of this website is paid. The payment may be a referral fee, a fixed fee for the use of this website, or a commission on work that is placed, and two limits on it matter to you: it does not change the price you are quoted, and it gives the operator no role in performing, approving or certifying any measurement. The terms and conditions state the same thing. Disclosed, and not left to be inferred.
Information Collected
Two kinds of information are collected.
The first is what you provide with a request:
- name, company, email address and telephone number
- the item, the quantity, the measurement points and the tolerances
- the standard required and the turnaround needed
The second is the ordinary technical information a browser sends — IP address, browser and device type, the referring page, and the pages viewed on this site.
No payment card details are collected through this website.
What It Is Used For
Three purposes account for request detail: reviewing what has been asked for, obtaining a quotation from a laboratory able to perform the work, and corresponding with you about it. Technical information serves a narrower purpose — keeping this site available and secure, and showing which pages are used.
None of it is sold. None of it is rented, traded, or supplied to third parties for their own marketing.
Who Receives It
The laboratory asked to quote or perform the work is the principal recipient, and it receives the detail the work requires. Behind the site itself sit the hosting, email and analytics providers; they receive what their service requires, act on instructions, and are not permitted to use the information for their own purposes.
Disclosure required by law is made when it is required. Any accreditation body exercising a right of access to the records of a performing laboratory is given that access.
Confidentiality
The same confidentiality obligations that apply to accredited laboratory work apply here. Drawings, specifications, tolerances, measurement data and results supplied with a request are confidential, and they go only to those who need them to prepare a quotation or to complete the work.
You are notified of a disclosure the law required, after it has been made, unless notifying you is prohibited.
Cookies and Site Statistics
What this site sets is limited to the cookies it needs to function, plus, where analytics is enabled, aggregate counting of visits. Most browsers can block or delete them. The site remains usable if you do, but a form submitted afterwards may not be recorded correctly.
How Long It Is Kept
Two retention periods apply, and they are not the same. Records held here last as long as the request needs answering and as accounting and record-keeping obligations require, and are then deleted or stripped of identifying detail. Records held by a laboratory that performed work are kept under that laboratory's own records policy.
Your Choices
The contact page lists the routes for asking what information is held about you, for having it corrected, and for having it deleted. Any of the three is answered within thirty days. Marketing email, if it is sent at all, carries an unsubscribe link and an unsubscribe request is honored on receipt.
Changes to This Policy
This statement is revised from time to time. Whatever is published at cmmcalibrationdetroit.com is the version in force. The governing law is that of Michigan.
