These pages carry general, descriptive information. They exist so that a requester can understand what can be arranged and what a request should contain. Nothing published at cmmcalibrationdetroit.com amounts to a technical specification, an engineering opinion, or a certificate of any kind.

Uncertainty attaches to every measurement result, and the result is meaningful only when read alongside three things: the measurement uncertainty stated on the certificate, the conditions under which the measurement was made, and the method used.

Statements of conformity are a pass or fail against a tolerance, and where one is issued it rests on a decision rule agreed before the work is performed. Nothing on this website states or implies a decision rule, an uncertainty figure, or a conformity outcome for any item.

Reporting of results happens on the certificate or report issued by the laboratory that performed the work, in the form in which it is issued, and nowhere else.

What a page of this website carries is description. What an email or a verbal statement made while arranging work carries is an arrangement. Neither amounts to a certificate of calibration, a report of results, or an amendment to either.

The certificate is valid as a complete document and should be read as one.

ISO/IEC 17025:2017 is the standard the work described here is performed under. Where accreditation is referenced, the accreditation is that held by the laboratory performing the work, and it extends only to the measurements listed in that laboratory's published scope. Work falling outside a published scope is performed and reported as non-accredited work, identified as such on the certificate.
